Nacho Monreal believes “the credit belongs to everyone” after Spain’s qualification for the 2018 World Cup.
Spain secured top spot in Group G with a 3-0 victory over Albania on Friday, and Monreal felt the collective spirit of La Roja was what drove the country to next summer’s showpiece in Russia.
“The credit belongs to the players and everyone else working with the national team,” the Arsenal left-back said at a Press conference for Monday’s final qualifier against Israel.
“We’re building something new and it’s working so far. Situation in Catalonia? We’re only focused on playing football.
“It’s none of our business. We’re only thinking about football, which is all we know.”
