Albacete appoint Enrique Martin

Albacete have appointed former Osasuna Coach Enrique Martin as the club’s new manager after the dismissal of Jose Manuel Aira.

Despite leading the club to promotion to the second tier in his one full season in charge, Aira was sacked after only one win and four points from their opening seven La Liga 123 matches.

Albacete, who’s last stint in the top flight of Spanish football ended in 2005, have appointed the former Osasuna manager to help stabilise the club.

The 61-year-old led Los Rojillos to promotion in 2016 despite huge financial constraints but was sacked in November last year with the club sitting in the relegation zone.

Albacete signed a number of players over summer including Ukranian international Roman Zozulya following his release from Real Betis and Argentine forward Fabian Espindola.
