Real Madrid have confirmed that Gareth Bale will miss Sunday’s clash with Espanyol in La Liga.
Bale had been a doubt going into the game with a muscle strain, and he has not been passed fit to face Espanyol, with Castilla full-back Alvaro Tejero taking his place.
Dani Carvajal’s pericardium infection also rules him out, opening the door for youngster Achraf Hakimi.
The pair are joined on the sidelines by Theo Hernandez, Karim Benzema, Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo.
