Isco ‘will become one of the greatest in the game’ according to Spain international teammate David De Gea.
The Real Madrid playmaker netted twice in a sensational performance in his nation’s 3-0 victory over Italy on Saturday night.
“Me and Isco have been friends for many years and it does not surprise me to see him do these things,” De Gea told reporters at Monday’s press conference ahead of the match with Liechtenstein.
“He is an incredible talent with many capabilities and he will only continue to grow stronger.
“At the moment he is playing a very level and with the ability and quality he possesses, he will become one of the greatest in the game.
“Qualifying for the World Cup? Nothing is done yet, we were fantastic against Italy but the points on offer (against Liechtenstein) are worth exactly the same.
“Representing my country is something that fills me with pride, playing in big games and gaining more influence in the team.”
