Paulinho expressed his delight at making his Barcelona debut as a substitute against Alaves on Saturday.
Paulinho replaced Andres Iniesta for the final two minutes of injury time during Barca’s 2-0 win at Alaves, and the midfielder – a €40m arrival from Guangzhou Evergrande – was impressed with how his new team played at Mendizorroza.
“I’m happy for my debut and getting my first few minutes,” he said after the game.
“I have to keep working and get to know my teammates more so that I can integrate into the team little by little.
“Alaves played on the counterattack and were tight at the back, hoping to break quickly after winning the ball.
“I saw my team well, calm, confident, playing with patience and without haste… The truth is that we got a result we deserved.”
