Atletico Madrid’s €11m deal for Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez is ‘99% complete’, according to the player’s agent Rolando Zarate.
The Argentina Under-20 international was reported to have a €9m release clause in his contract but despite rumours of a renewed contract and release clause, Los Rojiblancos appear to have tied up a deal.
“There is a 99 percent chance that the deal will be done,” Zarate told Fox Sports Argentina.
“Lautaro asked us expressly for the transfer to be nailed down. He likes the idea of Atletico Madrid and they have agreed to it.
“He wants to remain for another season because he wants to play the Copa Libertadores with Racing.”
Martinez broke into the Argentine club’s first team last season and netted nine goals in 23 appearances.
