Villarreal, Monaco and an unnamed Russian club are the latest teams to make enquiries for out-of-favour Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto.
Reports in Marca suggest The Yellow Submarine – for whom the Argentine netted 20 goals in his sole season at El Madrigal in 2014 – are keen on a return for the striker should their move for Carlos Bacca fall through.
The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, was reported to have held talks with Valencia on Monday after initial interest from Southampton and Sampdoria.
Vietto netted 10 times in 31 matches for the Andalucians but did not convince enough in order for Los Rojiblancos to pursue their interest.
The attacker failed to impress in his one season at the Vicente Calderon – scoring just one La Liga goal – and is behind Antoine Griezmann, Kevin Gameiro and Fernando Torres in Diego Simeone’s pecking order.
