Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Paulinho will complete a transfer to Barcelona in the region of €40m on Monday.
England’s Daily Mail sensationally claimed on Saturday that Barca had signed Paulinho, and while MD played down the report, it confirmed that an agreement “close to €40m” was very close.
The Catalan newspaper explains variables are the only issue holding up the deal, but sources close to the midfielder were confident of a quick resolution.
MD also claims to have spoken to unnamed personnel at Barca, who revealed that the 29-year-old’s arrival was being worked on.
Paulinho spent two years at Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2015 but was considered a disappointment in North London.
However, he went on to join Guangzhou Evergrande and subsequently regained his place in the Brazil squad.
