Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia has not yet travelled to Seville to complete his move to Real Betis, contradictory to media reports.
Earlier this week, Diario de Sevilla reported the 30-year-old would sign a four-year contract at Estadio Benito Villamarin but did not give the deal a time limit.
It followed reports in Russia the Spaniard would fly to Andalucia on Wednesday to complete his move which was said to be in the region of €1.5m.
Estadio Deportivo on Thursday were informed there were ‘no updates’ on the deal, after directing Garcia’s camp directly.
Malaga have also been heavily linked to the Real Madrid youth product with Coach Michel stating on Saturday he was a target before club owner Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani said on twitter the door had been closed.
