Zizou admits pre-season frustration

Zinedine Zidane has admitted his frustration at Real Madrid’s underwhelming pre-season which has seen them fail to win any of their four matches.

Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against an MLS select side followed defeats to Barcelona and Manchester City alongside a draw with Manchester United, which they lost on penalties.

“It is far from an ideal situation,” Zidane is quoted as saying by Marca.

“It is not right to not win any of the four games – we started slowly in the games and did not recover.

“We need to show more and we have not started well. We all now want to go home, rest and think about August 8th (European Super Cup).

“The MLS side are strong and have plenty of good players who are internationals – t is a league which is growing.”

Next up for Los Blancos is the European Super Cup clash against Manchester United on Tuesday.
