Malaga have agreed a €5m deal with Argentine club Banfield for midfielder Emanuel Cecchini according to various reports.
Marca verify a report in TyCSports that the 20-year-old has agreed a move to the Costa del Sol club and is set to fly to Spain this week to undergo a medical.
The highly-rated midfielder made professional debut for the top flight Argentine club in 2016 and has made 34 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Cecchini was identified by the Andalucian’s sporting director Francesc Arnau as a direct replacement for Pablo Fornals, who joined Villarreal earlier this week for €12m.
Malaga are also hopeful on a deal for Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia, who could replace Ignacio Camacho in the starting team at La Rosaleda.
