Official: Betis sign Feddal from Alaves

Real Betis have completed the signing of central defender Zouhair Feddal from Alaves on a four-year contract, it has been confirmed.

The Moroccan, also a target for Southampton has become the club’s seventh signing of a busy transfer after they reportedly triggered his €3m release clause.

“Since I heard that Betis had interest in me, it was my first choice,” Feddal told the club’s official website.

“This is a very interest project ; I’ve spoken to (vice president, Lorenzo) Serra Ferrer and chairman Angel Haro. I haven’t had the chance to speak to Quique Setien, but everyone says he is a wonderful Coach.

“The project that has been explained to me is very interesting and that’s why my only idea was to come here.”

The former Parma and Palermo defender made 33 appearances across all competitions in his debut season, helping the club to a top half league finish and the Copa Del Rey final.

Capped 13 times by Morocco, Feddal is also known to be capable of playing left-back and as a holding midfielder.
