Modric takes ’10’ shirt at Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has been awarded the number 10 shirt at the club which had been left vacant following James Rodriguez’s departure.

The Colombian playmaker signed a two-year loan deal with Bayern Munich earlier this month and former Spurs maestro Modric, who previously had the number 19 shirt, will inherit the kit.

Marcos Llorente and Borja Mayoral have been listed as shirt numbers 18 and 21 respectively but it is expected they will be redistributed once they leave on loan.

New signings Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez have been handed numbers 24 and 15, while Jesus Vallejo takes the number 3 shirt vacated by Pepe.

Manchester City-bound Danilo was handed the 23 shirt although this will soon be left vacant.
