Pepe Reina may renew his contract and stay at Napoli after all despite media speculation of a move to England, say reports.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports the Spanish goalkeeper’s agent Manuel Garcia Quillon was at the club’s offices on Tuesday to conclude a renewed contract with Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Earlier reports in The Guardian and Radio CRC had stated Manchester City had lodged a bid within the region of €2.5-3m for the 34-year-old.
Reina, capped 35 times by Spain, started his career at Barcelona and has been a constant in the Partenopei’s side for the past two seasons.
Napoli had reportedly targeted Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli earlier in the summer, before he committed his future to La Real.
