Getafe have signed Japanese international Gaku Shibasaki, after the midfielder left Tenerife after a six-month stint at the club.
The central midfielder starred at the Club World Cup last year for Kashima Antlers against Real Madrid – giving the Japanese side a temporary lead in the final.
The 25-year-old has scored three international goals in 11 appearances for Japan and is tipped for a bright future with his national side.
Shibasaki featured 16 times for Tenerife as they fell just short of promotion to the top flight, losing the promotion playoff final to the midfielder’s new club, Getafe.
