Gerard Deulofeu has confirmed that he is re-joining Barcelona with the intention of staying for at least next season.
Barca announced on Friday that they had activated their €12m buyback option for Deulofeu, and the former Everton and Milan winger is “confident” about enjoying first-team action at Camp Nou.
“It’s still fresh in the bud and there are still a couple of things to iron out, but everything will be fine,” he said after Spain’s 1-0 defeat to Germany in the European Under-21 Championship.
“What I want is to be in Barca’s first team. If you’re ambitious, you want to be a winner and you want to play for the big teams. I’m confident about my chances.
“I’m going to stay for a year, after that we’ll see. I’m very happy to have this opportunity that I never had before, of playing in Barca’s first team.”
