Highly-rated Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has decided to leave the club to join Manchester City, according to reports in Spain.
Diario Sport state the 16-year-old has rejected the Blaugrana’s latest offer of a contract and will move to Pep Guardiola’s side for a move in the region of €1.7m.
Garcia is one of the most highly rated talents in La Masia and is regarded as having a bright future in the professional game by the top coaches at the Blaugrana.
The defender was part of the Spanish Under 17 European Championships winning squad in May and is tipped to be a future Spanish international.
This is the latest blow to Barca’s youth system. after the departure of Jordi Mboula to Monaco earlier this month.
