Perez coy on Mbappe talk

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez refused to be drawn on speculation the club could make a move for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu after a remarkable full debut season in France where he netted 26 times and assisted 14 goals.

"I've seen very little of Mbappe, I know he's 18, a very good player, but for the moment he's a Monaco player," Perez told radio station Onda Cero.

"I don't know why people say he was born to play for Madrid. … I'll tell you if he was born to play for Madrid or not!

"I am sure he will be one of the greats and we are following him. Zidane's liked him a lot for a while, but it's not true we were close to signing him [a few years ago] because he still hadn't turned 16."

In a wide ranging interview, the president also confirmed the club had not received any offers for Cristiano Ronaldo, Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez.

"The PSG president is a friend of mine but he's not sent me an offer [for Ronaldo],” he continued.

“No one has sent us any offers, not for Ronaldo, not for James, nor for Morata. No one.

"It surprises me when I read the opposite in the press. And we have not sent any offers for any players, either."
