Line-ups: Macedonia-Spain

Diego Costa starts as Spain's lone striker for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against FYR Macedonia in Skopje tonight.

Costa is picked ahead of Alvaro Morata and Iago Aspas, just four days after his revelation that he had been told to leave Chelsea by text message.

Elsewhere for La Roja, Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos and Isco are all back, the Real Madrid trio having been rested for Wednesday's game against Colombia due to their participation in the Champions League Final.

There are also returns for goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielder Thiago Alcantara, with Pepe Reina and Koke among the substitutes.

Spain's last meeting with Macedonia came last September, when they cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Balkans.
