Real Madrid target Theo Hernandez has reportedly decided to switch his international allegiance from France to Spain.

According to Marca, Theo is ready to begin the procedure for naturalisation so that he can be called up by La Roja.

It comes after the left-back rejected a call-up to the France squad for the U-20 World Cup in order to play in the Copa del Rey Final with Alaves last weekend.

He should not encounter any problems attaining Spanish citizenship like his brother Lucas, given he has resided in the country for more than 10 years.

The newspaper also notes the 19-year-old “will be a madridista next season”, having reportedly passed a medical last month ahead of a proposed €24m transfer from arch-rivals Atletico Madrid.
