Torres hopeful on Iker stay

FC Porto midfielder Oliver Torres is hopeful teammate and compatriot Iker Casillas will remain with the Portuguese club next season.

A report in AS last week linked the 36-year-old goalkeeper with a move to Liverpool, stating he had already agreed a pre-contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

This followed on from reports in the Portuguese press that the former Real Madrid shot-stopper had not yet exercised a one-year extension on his deal at Estadio do Dragao.

"We're on holiday now but I'm in contact with Iker," Torres told Onda Cero.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him in preseason. I really hope he can continue with us."

The uncertainty is amplified by Porto not having a Coach following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this month while Madrid will reportedly stop paying 50% of Casillas’ wages beyond this summer.
