Midfielder Koke has penned a new long-term deal with Atletico Madrid which will see him remain with the club until June 2024, it has been announced.
The 25-year-old’s current deal was due to expire in June 2019 before he put pen to paper on a notably lengthy contract to undermine his commitment to the cause.
"Jose Resurreccion 'Koke' and Atletico Madrid have completed an agreement for the player to sign a contract extension until June 30, 2024," read a club statement.
The midfielder told the club’s official website, "Atletico is the club of my life and it's an honor to be a part of its future.”
Meanwhile, Los Rojiblancos sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero added: "This is great news for all Atletico fan.
"He is one of the leaders of the team and has grown up with the values of this club.
"Despite his youth, he has vast experience and he is an example to all the children from our Academy. He is loved, respected and will make history in this club."
