Real Madrid complete Vinicius deal

Real Madrid have completed the signing of 16-year-old Vinicius Junior from Flamengo, but the player will not leave the Brazilian club until 2019.

Madrid confirmed the news on their official website on Tuesday afternoon, with reports in both the Spanish and Brazilian press suggesting they will pay €30m up front and the remaining €15m in instalments once Vinicius arrives.

The teenager cannot move to the Bernabeu by law until after July 12 2018, by which time he will be 18 and he is expected to remain on loan with Flamengo in that time period.

The Spanish champions confirmed that they may exercise the option to end the loan agreement in 2018 but they ‘expect’ he will not arrive until 2019 to allow the player to develop in his home country.

Vinicius only made his first-team debut for the Rubro-Negro ten days ago, appearing for the final 10 minutes of their opening-day draw with Atletico Mineiro.
