Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe is a very similar attacking talent as Neymar, according to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The 18-year-old has netted 24 goals in an incredible breakthrough season at Stade Louis II, having only previously found the net once in eleven appearances prior to the campaign.
"What Mbappe is doing in Ligue 1 and even more so in the Champions League in Monaco's great run is exceptional,” Benzema is quoted as saying by L’Equipe.
“The last player who seemed as good and precocious at this level? Neymar.
"He's a phenomenon, but he needs to establish himself in the long term. At the beginning, the superlatives come very fast.
“I was labeled the same way when I made my debut for Lyon's as a 17-year-old, I scored my first Champions League goal and then became Ligue 1's leading scorer in 2008. You have to keep the same standard when you grow and are in difficult times.
"It's then that you see if you can make a step up, even more so if you're at a very big club or if you remain a good player as many have after shining very young."
