English Premier League side Everton have ‘launched the first offer’ for Las Palmas defender Mauricio Lemos, according to reports in the Spanish media.
According to Diario Sport, the Uruguayan defender ‘has already received an initial proposal from Everton to leave at the end of the season, but for now there is no agreement with the team of the Canary Islands.’
The report continues the Toffees are willing to pay €20m for the highly-rated 21-year-old defender, but Los Amarillos are unwilling to sell for less than his release clause of €30m.
A report in El Mundo Deportivo on Sunday suggested Ronald Koeman was interested in thedefender who signed from Russian side Rubin Kazan last year and has netted five times in 23 La Liga appearances.
Last week Lemos revealed he rejected an approach from Barcelona last summer in order to concentrate on developing as a player by earning more first-team football elsewhere.
