Koke believes a third placed finish and a last four Champions League appearance represents another successful season for Atletico Madrid.
The 25-year-old midfielder was involved in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Real Betis which was enough to secure Diego Simeone’s men a top three spot and automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League group stages.
"We know how important it is to get into the Champions League and we've achieved it," Koke said after Sunday's match.
"It's not easy, but we have had a really great season; the first half of the season wasn't good, but the second half has been spectacular.
"By entering in the Champions League we can keep attracting quality players.
"Only Real Madrid have knocked us out of the Champions League and Barcelona from the Copa del Rey, so this team is improving each year.
"We are professional and the objective was third place – we knew that a draw was enough for us."
