Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio believes he has the full trust of Coach Zinedine Zidane after a starring role in victory over Leganes.
The 21-year-old was the standout player for a Madrid side with nine changes from Sunday’s win over Alaves, with arguably his best moment being the skilful, mazy run to set up James Rodriguez for Los Blancos’ opening goal of the night.
"I know Zidane trusts me," Asensio is quoted as saying by Marca in the aftermath of Wednesday’s win.
"I only think about Real Madrid and being prepared to give me best when given the opportunity. I've come to Madrid to fight for my spot and the coach knows he can count on me.
"If we all work as one, we can achieve our objectives."
The former Real Mallorca star, who enjoyed a loan spell at Espanyol last season, has netted nine goals in 26 appearances for Madrid this season.
