Madrid relations strong – Cerezo

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has rejected reports he won’t attend the pre-match Bernabeu meal over Theo Hernandez reports.

A report on radio show El Transistor claimed Atletico chiefs were irritated by Madrid's behaviour – reportedly tabling a bid of €24m to trigger the release clause of the 19-year-old, currently on a season-long loan with Alaves.

However, Cerezo rubbished such reports and insisted his relationship with Bernabeu cheaps was a healthy one.

"I say the same as always – that whenever there is an important game, out comes a story about some transfer or signing, that someone is leaving or someone is staying,” Cerezo told reporters.

"Real Madrid have not made any contact with us, not for the player or to organise the meal.

"We are invited to the Bernabeu on Saturday the same as we have been for many years.

"Why would a meal between friends before a game be in danger? Our attendance is confirmed as always. We will speak about Theo, this issue, others, lots of things."
