Victor targets consecutive wins

Real Betis coach Victor Sanchez del Amo is aiming to secure successive victories for the first time this season as his side travel to Espanyol.

Los Verdiblancos saw off struggling Osasuna before the international break with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Estadio Benito Villamarin, but not since March 2016 have the club managed to secure back-to-back victories.

“The match at Espanyol is important for us as we want to secure consecutive victories for the first time this season,” the Coach confirmed at his pre-match press conference.

“The support of this club is tremendous and for that reason we want to dedicate a result to our fans, they go everywhere for us and really help – we want to make them happy and proud.

“Piccini’s injury? He has trained recently but it is a risk and due to the options we have in his position as full-back, we have taken the decision to rest him.

“Espanyol? They are a very compact side who are well organised and defensively strong, they press well, are good in position and pacey on the counter-attack so will be a danger to us.”
