David Silva, Dani Carvajal, Isco and Vitolo all spoke of their delight after Spain’s 4-1 win against Israel in 2018 World Cup qualifying on Friday.
The quartet appeared at El Molinon, with Silva and Vitolo both starting and scoring, Carvajal constantly bombing up and down the right flank and Isco rounding off the victory as a late substitute.
“I’m very happy with the goal but above all with the win. We had to win to stay top,” the Manchester City midfielder told Teledeporte.
“The balance sheet is very positive and we’re doing a great job. We have to continue like this.”
The Real Madrid right-back added: “I’ve had some bad days [with the national team], but now I’m feeling very well. I love going up and down the right wing.
“We’re top, but this is a race that’ll go down to the wire. We have to keep picking up three points.”
His Blancos teammate continued: “I’m happy to be here and for the confidence I’ve been given. It was an important match for staying top.
“I’m always here to add value and contribute as much as I can. We have to keep this up and look forward.
“We have a very complete and balanced team. I always try to help my teammates.”
And finally, the Sevilla winger concluded: “When I’m here, I see the opponents’ goal with ease and it’s always a joy to be with the national team.
“For a player, a Coach’s confidence is very important and it’s something that I’m very grateful for.”
