Pedro Leon’s stoppage time equaliser earned Eibar a point in the all-Basque encounter with Real Sociedad at Anoeta on Tuesday evening.
Juanmi gave La Real a first-half lead but was later dismissed for a second yellow card after Eibar had equalised through Gonzalo Escalante twelve minutes later.
The visitors were reduced to ten men just after the break as Florian Lejeune picked up a second yellow but the former Southampton striker evened things up with his red card on the hour mark.
Carlos Vela’s penalty midway through the second half looked to have won the game for Eusebio Sacristan’s side but Leon’s equaliser – with only twenty seconds to go of the allocated three minutes of added time – earned Eibar a deserved point.
La Real missed the chance to move into fourth, temporarily at least, above Atletico Madrid while Eibar remain seventh with their European ambitions still on track.
