Berizzo: Keep winning the challenge

Eduardo Berizzo believes to keep winning is “the challenge” for Celta Vigo as they prepare to take on Sporting Gijon in La Liga.

Celta staged an impressive turnaround in the Europa League midweek, winning 2-0 at 2009 champions Shakhtar Donetsk to reach the last 16, but Berizzo warned his side that they needed more victories in order to compete.

“What happened on Thursday must be a symptom of our conviction of playing in a certain way,” he said at a Press conference.

“If we were able to play like we did, we must demand it in every game. There’s one thing that’s much harder to win than winning, and that’s to keep winning.

“It’s our biggest challenge, we have to be always the team that attack and reinforce that conviction during times of difficulty.

“Sporting? They arrive on the back of having a very good game [against Atletico Madrid].

“They’ve deserved a few more points, they’re a team that still have a lot to say. I see them very much alive.”

Berizzo also confirmed Ruben Blanco would return in goal at El Molinon and that Claudio Beauvue could appear, the former Lyon winger having been out for almost a year with a torn Achilles tendon.
