Draw a ‘psychological blow’ – Voro

Valencia caretaker manager Voro has described conceding a stoppage time equaliser at Osasuna minutes after a penalty miss as a ‘psychological blow.

Los Che led 3-2 at El Sadar with four minutes to go but Dani Parejo could not convert his penalty to put the game to bed, before Carlos Clerc gave the hosts a third equaliser of the game in the third minute of stoppage time.

“It’s a psychological blow for sure to lose points so late on in that manner,” explained Voro, who has stepped in since Cesare Prandelli’s departure last month.

“We took the lead three times and three times we could not hold on, it is a great shame but that is the reality of our situation

“This is sad for us because we thought we had three points, especially with the chance to increase our lead from the penalty spot, but this has been the story of our season.

“It was a physical match and was always going to be close.

“We are in a difficult situation and the players and coaches feel it, but we must keep working hard and try to find solutions and eventually the coin will fall in our favour.”

Munir, an own goal from Oriol Riera and Martin Montoya had each given the visitors the lead, but they were pegged back by Riera, Roberto Torres and Clerc’s late strike.

Osasuna remain bottom with just one win all season while Valencia stay 17th.
