Vasiljevic calls for Osasuna spirit

New Osasuna boss Petar Vasiljevic has challenged his players to ‘not hide’ ahead of his first game in charge against fellow crisis-stricken side Valencia.

Former sporting director Vasiljevic has no previous management experience outside of the youth teams at El Sadar and agreed to replace Joaquin Caparros who was sacked after only eight games in charge, in which he suffered seven defeats.

"The players will not hide, I will not hide, I hope we will give our full effort which was allow us to pick up some points,” explained the former Serbian defender.

“The squad have trained well and proved they are open to new ideas and ways of playing which is encouraging.

“I have a clear idea in my mind of our starting eleven and we will continue to use three central defenders with wing-backs.”

Vasiljevic is the third manager of the season for basement club Osasuna, who have won only once from sixteen league games this season  but they sit only five points off 17th-placed Valencia going into this tie.
