Vasiljevic: “It’s time to win”

Osasuna boss Petar Vasiljevic insists his team must now start winning games to give themselves a real chance at avoiding relegation this season.

The Serb is the club’s third manager of the campaign and has yet to win a match in charge, with the basement club’s 3-2 win over Eibar in October their only La Liga victory this season and face Malaga on Friday night.

"It's time to win – we're looking at all the games and we will need to come up with the best plan for each one to try and get a positive result,” explained Vasiljevic.

“I think we're seeing the team in a different way and improving but if we're going to win we will need to cut out our mistakes, while we may need a little luck too.

"We have an obligation to take each game at a time, we know it's a phrase repeated a lot by coaches, but every game we play now is a cup final to us.

“Playing at home, we must be aggressive, we must show teamwork and unity, fighting until the end.

“There were doubts before but now we’ve scored plenty against Valencia and Sevilla, and against Granada too.”

Osasuna are the only La Liga side not to have won a home game all season, while Malaga are yet to taste victory on the road.
