Zidane: James, Morata, Pepe…

Zinedine Zidane insists he wants to keep James Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and Pepe after the Real Madrid trio were linked with exits.

James admitted after Madrid’s Club World Cup triumph against Kashima Antlers last month that he was considering his options as China is reportedly calling for the expiring Pepe and the Italian Press claim Alvaro Morata could make a shock return to Juventus.

“James is ultimately a Madrid player, an important player,” the Coach said at a Press conference for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey clash with Sevilla.

“I’m going to treat James like I do everyone else. Everyone here is important, we’ll all continue to work and do so together.

“When you don’t play in a final, you get angry. I understand that sometimes it’s difficult, but it’s difficult for everyone.

“It’s already in the past. Now we want to look at what lies ahead.

“We’ve talked about [his situation], he also said that he wanted to stay here, at the best club in the world.

“There’s nothing more to say about it, we’re going to continue working, that’s what’s important.

“Morata? I don’t think that the reports about him are true, I see him happy to be here because this is his home.

“He’s working well and I see him very involved in the project. What’s been said, I don’t think, is true. You’ll have to ask him.

“Pepe? He’s our player and an important one. He’s made history at this club for the past 10 years and I want him to stay with us.

“I’m not interested in what’s being said but what he’s going to do with us from now until the end of the season.”
