Athletic Bilbao have confirmed star striker Aritz Aduriz has agreed a new contract with the club which will see his stay at San Mames extended until June 2018.
The 35-year-old Spanish international’s career is not slowing down – he has already hit twelve goals for the Basques this season including five in a Europa League win over Genk last month.
"Athletic Club and the player Aritz Aduriz have reached an agreement to prolong the player's contract until 30 June 2018, with a €40m cancellation clause,” read a brief statement on the club’s website.
In total, Aduriz has hit 133 goals in 295 in his third spell with the Basque club and has hit 156 goals in his career for Athletic having also enjoyed spells with Burgos, Vallodolid, Real Mallorca and Valencia.
He has been capped 11 times for the Spanish national team, scoring twice and was a part of the squad in the 2016 European Championships.
