Valencia ‘hit rock bottom’ – captain

Valencia captain Enzo Perez has admitted they have ‘hit rock bottom’ after drawing at home to Granada and fans booing club owner Peter Lim.

The hosts spurned a number of opportunities and despite Luis Nani’s equaliser to cancel out Mehdi Carcela’s earlier strike, they could not defeat a winless Granada side, with fans chanting at the owner to 'leave now'.

"We are not playing like we do in training and like this, it becomes very difficult," the 30-year-old told Marca.

"We have hit rock bottom in every sense.

"A point is of little comfort because in order to climb up in the standings, you need to win games. We need to be stronger when playing at home and we aren't achieving this.

"Playing the way we are doing, it's going to be hard to take points.

"We give away childlike goals that you should never concede in La Liga – we need a cool head and to try to improve from our mistakes.

"If anyone has to pull the team out of this situation it is us, the players."
