Nacho Monreal has expressed his delight with returning to the Spain set-up after consecutive appearances. “What more could I want?”
Monreal ended his three-year exile from the Spain squad last month against Albania and followed that up with a goalscoring performance in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Macedonia.
“We’re very happy for the victory,” the Arsenal defender said after the game.
“We had to win. It’s my first goal for the national team, so I’m twice as happy.
“The entire team had a good match, not just the defenders. We had the initiative. We didn’t suffer at all, just a little at first.
“I went two years without being in the national team, the new Coach has given me the opportunity and I’m very happy. What more could I want?”
