Dani Carvajal has hailed Julen Lopetegui’s impact on Spain since taking charge in the summer. “He can plug you into any game.”
Lopetegui has won three and drawn one of his four games as Spain boss, with the only non-victory coming against Italy, to put La Roja well on their way to the 2018 World Cup, and Carvajal is a firm believer that his former youth protege is the right man for the job.
“The level of the group is high, but it’s clear that the Italy game may ultimately decide qualification,” the Real Madrid full-back said at a Press conference.
“It’s true that we conceded only a few chances [against Macedonia] and this is very good. We defend as a team.
“I already knew Lopetegui and he’s a Coach who knows how to motivate players and prepare you well for games.
“He can plug you into any game. He works with his heart and makes us go out onto the pitch at 200 percent.
“England? It’ll be a great game given who our opponents will be. We want to make our country happy.
“I’ve never played at Wembley, and I’m very excited to do so, like everyone else here.”
