Belgian international Yannick Carrasco is targeting ‘many more’ awards after being named as Atletico Madrid’s player of the month for October.
The 23-year-old’s fine form throughout the month was rewarded as his six goals in five games across all competitions was enough to earn him a new contract at Los Rojiblancos until 2022.
"I am delighted for this award, thanks to the fans, and I hope I can win many more," Carrasco told the club's official website.
"It was important to renew my contract, and score more goals than I ever did before, that was important. Many thanks to my teammates.
"We go game by game, in every game we do everything we win," he said. "It is important to do well in this last year here at the Calderon, before we move to the new stadium."
Despite back-to-back league away defeats to Sevilla and Real Sociedad, Atleti aim to get back on track as they host Real Madrid on 19 November.
