Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is glad to be back in the team following an injury layoff but admits he still needs time to work on his fitness.
The Croatian missed eight games for Los Blancos due to an injury on his left knee in September's win over Espanyol but returned to action with a second-half substitute appearance against Leganes on Sunday.
"I feel happy to be back with the team," Modric told reporters in the mixed zone at the Bernabeu.
"Now I must keep working and recover physically. I must thank the fans for the lovely welcome they gave me. That helps you to feel good on the pitch. The most important thing is I felt good, with no issues."
The 31-year-old will now join up with the Croatian squad for their upcoming matches against Iceland and Northern Ireland.
