‘Bale will finish career at Madrid’

Gareth Bale’s agent says the Welshman intends to finish his career with Real Madrid after signing a six-year contract extension on Monday.

Jonathan Barnett accompanied Bale to the announcement of his new deal and told Marca his client’s only idea is to continue playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“We have never heard of offers from any other club because Gareth’s only idea was to play for Real Madrid,” insisted Barnett.

“It is the best club in the world and he is very happy here. Madrid loves Bale and Bale loves Madrid. Everything is perfect.

“I think Bale has made it clear and moving is something we are not contemplating. Right now the only thing that exists is Real Madrid. I can’t see him ever leaving Madrid.”

Barnett affirmed he did not want to comment on the details of Bale’s new contract, which reportedly makes him the highest paid player in the world, but did discuss the possibility of him winning the Ballon d’Or.

“I don’t want to discuss figures but it is a very good contract for Gareth.

“All players would like to win the Ballon d’Or one day, but Bale’s first objective is to keep winning titles with Real Madrid. He wants to win everything here.

“This year I think Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win it because he is a great player,” he declared.
