The so-called ‘FIFA virus’ hits Barcelona a third time this week as Netherlands confirm Jasper Cillessen picked up an ankle injury in training.
The Dutch Football Association’s (KNVB) official Twitter account adds Cillessen has been replaced in the Netherlands squad by Tottenham Hotspur’s Michel Vorm.
The former Ajax man did not start Netherlands’ 4-1 victory over Belarus in 2018 World Cup qualifying on Friday as Maarten Stekelenburg was preferred in goal, leaving La Blaugrana’s 2-1 defeat to Alaves as the only competitive match he has played in since arriving from Ajax.
He joins Barca teammates Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto in having suffered injuries while on international duty.
