Paco Jemez has been sacked by Granada after only six games in charge, the club have confirmed in a statement.

Jemez was only appointed as boss of El Grana in June after his four year spell at Rayo Vallecano came to an end when the Vallecas-based club were relegated but after collecting only two points from their opening six league fixtures he was under pressure.

The club confirmed the decision was taken 'unanimously' in a statement, with the former Spanish international to take his final training session today before saying his goodbyes to the squad and facing the media.

"After studying in detail the current situation and the results obtained, we have taken this decision unanimously," read the club's statement.

Wednesday morning reports in Cope and from local Granada media outlets confirmed that the club were holding a meeting to discuss the 46-year-old's future at the club, with a sacking '99.99% possible'.

The club could announce his dismissal on Wednesday, three days ahead of Granada hosting Leganes in a crucial league fixture at Los Carmenes.

It is the third managerial dismissal of the season after only six matches, following on from Valencia's decision to terminate Pako Ayestaran's contract last week and Villarreal parting ways with Marcelino before the start of the league campaign.
