‘Casemiro injury won’t change Madrid’

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has ruled out changing the way his team plays, despite the injury to Casemiro.

The defensive midfielder has fractured his fibula and is expected to miss between one and two months of action, while fellow countryman Marcelo has picked up a calf injury and is expected to miss three weeks.

“We won’t play differently without Casemiro, our idea remains the same,” confirmed Zidane.

“Something might change due to the skills of another player but the idea and the plan remains the same.

“We are missing important players but we have others in attack and defensive and we will be prepared for every game.

“At half-time vs Villarreal I told the team we were lacking in intensity. If we didn’t finish them quickly we'd be made to pay.

“Keylor will enter the squad for the game against Las Palmas. Coentrao has trained normally and could be on the list too.”

Madrid travel to Las Palmas on Saturday evening against a team who have won both their home games this season.
