‘Granada lacked football & desire’

Paco Jemez blasted his Granada side for “lacking personality, football and desire” after they squandered a two-goal lead against Real Betis.

Granada were 2-0 up inside half an hour, but their advantage was wiped out by Alex Alegria’s brace, before Ruben Vezo saw red and Ezequiel Ponce missed a penalty, prompting Jemez to accuse his side of showing “we weren’t a team fit for this League” at times.

“We lacked personality, football and desire,” the Coach said after the game.

“We only played for 20 minutes when football’s 90 minutes long.

“There were times when we showed that we weren’t a team fit for this League, but we have some great talent.

“For our work, we’ve been reinforced in some areas but not in others. Betis were out of our control.”
