David De Gea has described Iker Casillas' absense from the Spanish squad as 'a bit strange'.
De Gea has usurpsed Casillas the country's first choice goalkeeper, and the Porto shot-stopper was not called up to new manager Julen Lopetegui's first Spanish squad.
"It's a bit strange to be here without Iker, he was the captain for so long," explained the 25-year-old to AS.
Casillas is Spain's record caps holder, appearing for his country on 167 occasions.
