Fresh reports suggests that Real Betis are preparing a new contract for veteran striker Ruben Castro.
Castro, who's contract at Estadio Benito Villamarin expires at the end of the season, has recently been linked with a move to Qatar but appears likely to extend his say at Los Verdiblancos.
ABC and Betis TV reports that both manager Gus Poyet and sporting director Miguel Torrecilla want to extend the 35-year-old striker's deal until 2019, with a possible additional final year added to that based on performance.
Castro netted both goals in his side's opening day 6-2 defeat at Camp Nou, and scored 19 goals last season.
