It is reported that Schalke are set to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka on an initial loan deal from Sevilla.
The Ukrainian has been linked with several clubs over the course of the summer transfer window, but it appears the German side have won the race for his signature.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the deal will also see Schalke have the right to sign the 26-year-old on a permanent basis for a fee of €16m at the end of the season.
Konoplyanka is now free to travel to Germany in order to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
The player spent one year in Andalusia, helping the Rojiblancos win a third successive Europa League last term.
However, he is not a part of new Coach Jorge Sampaoli’s plans and has been allowed to leave.
